A
few weeks ago, I volunteered for two days, with my
friends, Carol, Maria and Colleen at a locally
sponsored Rabies Clinic. A veterinarian was
giving affordably priced rabies shots for cats
and dogs.
All I knew was that we were going to be filling
out paperwork, name, address, pet name, age,
sex, neutered? Sounded easy enough.....
When
we arrived at the firehouse at the scheduled time,
the pets and owners were already lined up and down
the street!
We
quickly ran to our stations and after a very brief
orientation, began furiously filling out forms and
handing out rabies tags. After which the line
would form again inside for the actual shot to be
given. OK, I admit it doesn't sound hard but when
one person would come up with several pets at
once, it seemed chaos could erupt at any second.
It
was hard to keep focused on the task at hand when
the pets and the kids were so darn cute!
